The Integrated Transport Centre Launches Joint Campaign to Promote Compliance with Parking Regulations Around Mosques During Prayer Times

Abu Dhabi, Friday 17 July 2026 – As part of its efforts to strengthen integration with strategic partners, the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, continues to implement joint awareness and organisational campaigns in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat and Q Mobility.

The campaigns aim to reduce sporadic parking around mosques during prayer times, contributing to smoother traffic flow, more efficient use of parking spaces, and an improved access experience for worshippers.

Areas surrounding mosques experience increased traffic density during specific periods due to the movement of large numbers of vehicles and pedestrians. This requires greater commitment to using designated parking spaces and avoiding parking in unauthorised areas, helping maintain traffic flow and prevent congestion from extending to nearby roads and streets.

Traffic management relies on proactive and organisational measures that enhance the efficiency of parking demand management and public facilities during peak periods, ensuring continuous traffic movement and seamless access to various destinations.

Abu Dhabi Mobility emphasised that the success of these efforts depends on the collective role of all concerned entities, alongside the public’s commitment to using designated parking areas, respecting pedestrian pathways, and avoiding any obstruction to traffic movement.

Compliance with traffic regulations is a key factor in enhancing road user safety, facilitating worshippers’ access to mosques during prayer times, and supporting a more sustainable mobility model across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
