Abu Dhabi on Thursday, 8 October 2026 – The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has announced the regulation of vehicle washing services in public parking and residential villa areas under the MAWAQiF System, as part of its efforts to regulate the use of public parking facilities, limit unauthorised practices, preserve the emirate's urban appearance, and ensure that vehicle washing services are provided in authorised locations.

The Centre explained that vehicle washing is prohibited in public parking areas under the MAWAQiF System. Companies may provide the service in authorised areas, provided they obtain prior approval from the Centre and comply with the approved requirements and procedures.

As part of its efforts to enhance compliance, the Centre continues, in coordination with Q Mobility and the relevant entities, to carry out monitoring and inspection activities to identify violations and take the necessary action against offenders.

The Centre also urged vehicle owners not to engage unlicensed workers to wash their vehicles and to use vehicle washing services provided by licensed companies in authorised locations.
