Integrated Transport Centre Ready to Support Visitors’ Mobility to the Sheikh Zayed Festival 2025–2026
Abu Dhabi on Friday, 31 October 2025 – The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), an affiliate of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, has announced its readiness to meet the mobility needs of visitors to the Sheikh Zayed Festival, taking place in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, from 1 November 2025 to 22 March 2026. This comes as part of ITC’s commitment to supporting major national events by providing safe and seamless mobility services that enhance the visitor experience and ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the festival.
This prominent annual event combines entertainment, culture and heritage, celebrating the authentic Emirati values and traditions established by the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in a family-friendly atmosphere filled with joy and enriching cultural experiences.
Transport services for festival visitors
ITC will again operate public transport services this year through Bus Route 408, connecting several locations in Abu Dhabi with the festival site in Al Wathba. Buses will run every 30 minutes, and every 20 minutes during peak times. The route serves Abu Dhabi’s Main Bus Station, passes Rabdan Mall on Al Ittihad Street and the area opposite Baniyas Court, and continues to the festival grounds.
From Sunday to Thursday, outbound trips operate from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with return services from 4:30 PM to 12:30 AM. On Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays, outbound services run until 12:00 midnight, with return trips operating until 1:30 AM, ensuring capacity during the festival’s peak period.
Integrated Services to Enhance Visitor Experience
To ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for visitors, there will be a designated area for passenger pick-up and drop-off, ensuring a sufficient number of taxis available. Visitors will also be able to book taxis by calling 600535353, through the Abu Dhabi Taxi app.
In addition, a specialist team will manage and regulate traffic in the festival area in coordination with strategic partners. “Road Service Patrol” units will be deployed to manage traffic around the event site and to provide support to road users in case of vehicle breakdowns; such as fuel delivery, tyre changes and battery charging. Additionally, vehicle towing services will be available to safely remove broken-down vehicles from the road to the nearest secure location, ensuring the safety of all road users.
The Integrated Transport Centre will further support festival attendees with an on-site team of inspectors available to offer assistance. Contact centre staff will be available to provide bus timing information, resolve customer complaints or manage lost-and-found queries, and coordinate effectively with operational teams to effectively meet visitor requirements.
