Abu Dhabi Mobility Centre provides a variety of public transport services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to offer an efficient and comfortable transport experience for both residents and visitors, making it an ideal way to travel in the city and its suburbs.
The public transport network is designed to ensure the provision of reliable, comfortable, and cost-effective means of transport for everyone.

Initiatives

Abu Dhabi Mobility presents initiatives aimed at establishing an integrated and sustainable transport system that enhances the quality of services provided to the community supporting the strategic plans of Abu Dhabi Emirate and the efforts of the United Arab Emirates in addressing climate change challenges and achieving sustainable development principles in the transport sector.

Green Bus Assessment Program (GBA)
The Green Bus Assessment Program (GBA) is designed as part of the transformative strategy for the public transport sector towards adopting more sustainable alternatives. It aims to support sustainable development and carbon emissions reduction goals as well as Abu Dhabi's 2050 Climate Neutrality Strategy. Abu Dhabi Mobility aims to transform Abu Dhabi Island as a first stage into a green public transport zone served by buses powered by hydrogen and electricity. The program operates as a comprehensive action plan in collaboration with leading international governmental entities, bus manufacturers and local and global suppliers with primary focus into identifying the best technologies and specifications that aligns with local conditions while ensuring infrastructure readiness and addressing other operational requirements.

Program Pillars
  • First Pillar: Empowering and developing Emirati competencies in strategic projects, empowering them through targeted training programs in the field of hydrogen and electric buses and practical training sessions that are conducted in both South Korea (Changguan City) and the People’s Republic of China (Shenzhen Bus Group).These competencies will directly manage the program's projects to achieve the planned results.

  • Second Pillar: Assessing various models of hydrogen and electric buses procured through agreements with the program's partners in the green bus manufacturing sector.

  • Third Pillar: Designing and implementing the infrastructure required for charging buses with hydrogen and electric energy.
